Tullahoma Baseball loses heartbreaker to Collierville

Saturday’s game against Collierville was a heartbreaker for Tullahoma, as they lost the lead late in a 12-4 defeat. The game was tied at four with Collierville batting in the top of the fifth when Trent DeZemplen singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. 

The Tullahoma Wildcats struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Collierville, giving up 12 runs. 

Collierville got things started in the first inning. Braden Sheals drew a walk, scoring one run. 

Collierville scored seven runs in the sixth inning. Collierville’s big inning was driven by a triple by Seth Brown, a home run by Christian Dunn, and a fielder’s choice by Grant Ross. 

Tyler Johns led the Collierville to victory on the mound. The bulldog went two innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out two and walking zero. Luke Whaley threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Colton Emory took the loss for Tullahoma. Emory lasted one inning, allowing four hits and seven runs. 

Camden Quick started the game for Tullahoma. The southpaw allowed zero hits and three runs over two-thirds of an inning Ryan Neilson started the game for Collierville. The ace lasted two innings, allowing one hit and three runs while striking out three 

Jayron Morris led the Wildcats with two hits in three at bats. 

Collierville tallied nine hits. Ross and Brown each collected multiple hits for Collierville.
