Tullahoma baseball snags victory over Columbia Central

Tullahoma Wildcats snatched the lead late in the game in a 7-3 victory over Columbia Central on Tuesday. The game was tied at two with Tullahoma batting in the bottom of the fifth when Jacob Dixon singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs. 

Tullahoma Wildcats knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the fourth inning, when Jayron Morris singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. 

Tullahoma Wildcats scored three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to by Cayden Tucker and a double by Jaxon Sheffield. 

Trenton Sholey was the winning pitcher for Tullahoma. Sholey surrendered three runs on four hits over five and a third innings, striking out seven. Cannon Emory threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen. Emory recorded the last five outs to earn the save for Tullahoma. 

Luke Uselton took the loss for Columbia Central. Uselton lasted five and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and seven runs while striking out one. 

Evan Tomlin went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Wildcats in hits. 

Uselton led Columbia Central with two hits in four at bats.
