Tullahoma baseball takes two in double header versus Grundy County and Central Magnet

Game 1

Tullahoma Wildcats put up six runs in the first on its way to an 11-2 victory over Grundy County on Thursday. The offensive firepower by Tullahoma was led by Jayron Morris, Evan Tomlin, Jaden Eggleston, and Jaxon Sheffield, all knocking in runs in the inning. 

In the first inning, Tullahoma Wildcats got their offense started when an error scored two runs for Tullahoma. Joseph Duncan took the win for Tullahoma. Duncan surrendered two runs on four hits over four innings, striking out two and walking zero. Camden Quick threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. 

Jarom Huntly took the loss for Grundy County. Huntly allowed two hits and six runs over two innings, striking out three. 

Tullahoma scattered ten hits in the game. Jacob Dixon and Brody Melton each racked up multiple hits for Tullahoma. Melton and Dixon each collected two hits to lead the Wildcats. Tullahoma stole five bases during the game as two players stole more than one. DJ Dillehay led the way with two.

Game 2

Tullahoma Wildcats took Thursday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 6-5 walk-off victory over Central Magnet. The game was tied at five with Tullahoma batting in the bottom of the sixth when Brody Melton singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run. 

Cannon Emory pitched the Wildcats to victory. The righthander went two innings, allowing one run on one hit, striking out three and walking zero. 

Matthew Fleischman took the loss for Central Magnet. The bulldog lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing three hits and two runs while walking zero. 

Ragan Tomlin started the game for Tullahoma. Tomlin lasted four innings, allowing four hits and four runs while striking out three Esten Cook started the game for Central Magnet. The pitcher went five innings, allowing four runs on ten hits and striking out four 

Tullahoma Wildcats totaled 13 hits. Joseph Duncan, Melton, Jaxon Sheffield, and Colton Emory each had multiple hits for the Wildcats. Sheffield, Melton, and Duncan all had three hits to lead Tullahoma.
