The annual Tullahoma Fireworks will be postponed until Labor Day weekend this year. The Covid-19 pandemic social distancing guidelines and the Governor’s restrictions on large gatherings create too many constraints on creating the best experience for spectators. Additionally, planning was not able to take place due to the uncertainty of when restrictions would be lifted.
“I don’t think we should cancel the event,” said Mayor Lane Curlee. “I believe people need an uplifting event to look forward to. We want to emphasize at this point that the event has not been cancelled, but rather postponed.”
As a result, we are postponing our community event for Labor Day weekend and planning for an event that will be dedicated to “Tullahoma’s Frontline Heroes,” those dedicated medical professionals, first responders, teachers, and all essential workers that have continued providing immeasurable community service throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We want to say ‘thanks’ to the essential workers, medical personnel and first responders who have been there serving us through this difficult time,” said Mayor Curlee.
