The Tullahoma Wildcats football moved into the 2nd round of the TSSAA playoffs on Friday night by beating up on Stone Memorial 49-8.
The mercy rule was enforced early in the contest as the Cats took a 49-0 lead at halftime.
First up for Tullahoma was a TD throw from Ryan Scott to Joe Duncan for a 62-yard touchdown with 10:28 left in the first quarter. KeiShawn Cummings added to the Wildcats lead on a 28-yard touchdown run with 7:06 remaining in the first, making it 14-0. A 4-yard touchdown run by Mr Football semifinalist Jakobe Thomas with 43 seconds left in the first quarter for a 21-0 lead.
In the 2nd quarter Tullahoma continued to pour it on as QB Ryan Scoot scored a 7-yard run with 6:23 left in the half to push the lead up to 28-0. The Cats upped the advantage to 35-0 when Scott hits Brody Melton for a 29-yard TD pass with 3:39 left in the 2nd. With only 54 seconds left before halftime, DJ Dillehay runs in a 45-yard touchdown to give the Wildcats a 42-0 lead. Stone Memorial fumbled the kickoff and Jacob Dixon recovered the ball in the end zone to give the Wildcats a commanding 49-0 lead at the half.
Stone Memorial would get their only score with a touchdown and 2-point conversion to make the final score 49-8.
This Friday on 93.9 The Duck Tullahoma will host Marshall County at 7 p.m. The Wildcats beat Marshall County 42-0 in September.
