Tullahoma softball falls to Columbia Central

Tullahoma Lady Wildcats watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 13-3 loss to Columbia Central on Monday. Columbia Central scored on a single by Saviya Morgan and a double by Summer Hooten in the first inning. 

The Lady Wildcats struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Columbia Central, giving up 13 runs. 

Columbia Central scored five runs in the sixth inning. Columbia Central big bats were led by Addison Maurer, Hooten, and Tashiya Lyles, all driving in runs in the frame. 

Hooten was the winning pitcher for Columbia Central. The ace allowed four hits and three runs over five innings, striking out two. Kiraonte Buchanan threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. 

Katy Bean took the loss for Tullahoma. The righthander surrendered six runs on eight hits over two and a third innings, striking out two and walking one. 

Addie Snipes, Kailyn Farrell, Carlie Baker, and Demi Garner each collected one hit to lead the Lady Wildcats. 

Columbia Central racked up 14 hits on the day. Hooten, Morgan, Buchanan, Lyles, Maurer, and Sa’maira Davis each had multiple hits for Columbia Central. Columbia Central stole ten bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Morgan led the way with five.
