Two Fatal Crashes in Coffee County on I-24 takes the Lives of Three People

On Monday night (Nov. 29, 2021) at 11:00 p.m. a one-vehicle accident took place on Interstate 24.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a 2021 Hyundai Sonata driven by Cornelia Pollard age 33 of Chattanooga Tn was traveling east in the left lane of I-24 when the vehicle left the roadway striking a bridge pier at exit 117 in Coffee County.

Pollard and her passenger 54 year-old Carlos Boykin also of Chattanooga were pronounced deceased due to the injuries received in the crash.


A single vehicle crash took place on Wednesday morning (Dec. 1, 2021) at 7:40 a.m. on Interstate 24 near the 120 mile-marker in Coffee County.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a 2010 Lexus LS driven by 50 year-old Anthony Jefferson of Union City, Ga was traveling westbound in the left lane and ran off the left side of the roadway. Anthony’s Lexus struck the guardrail, spun into the median before coming to rest. 

Because of his injuries he received in the accident Jefferson died in the single-vehicle accident.
