Unemployment Rate Down in Area Counties

Most of Tennessee’s 95 counties started 2021 with lower unemployment numbers, according to data released by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Seventy-eight counties went down.

Williamson County recorded the state’s lowest unemployment rate of 3.2%. Cocke County had the highest at 8.5%.

Coffee County went down from 5.2 percent in December to 4.7 percent in January.

In Warren Co. the rate increased from 5.9 December to 6.0 percent in January.

Moore County went down from 4.1 to 3.8%.

Bedford County dropped from 5.6 to 5.3 percent.

Franklin County fell from 6 percent in December to 4.6 in January.

Grundy County went down to 6.7 percent form 7 percent in December.

Lincoln County dropped to 5.2 percent in January from 6 percent in December.

Rutherford County went down from 4.4 to 4.2.
