UPDATE! Body of 12 Year-Old Coffee County Boy Missing in Lake Michigan has been Recovered

Lane Frame

The body of Lane Frame has been recovered. He is the 12-year-old boy from Coffee County that went missing after he was swept off the Frankfort Pier on Lake Michigan on Monday. His body was located around 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Benzie County sheriff’s office says the family from Coffee County was walking on the pier Monday when three kids were swept off the pier.

Other children were rescued, but sadly Lane was not.

The family is bringing 12 year-old Lane back to Coffee County for arrangements.

A Michigan resident started a GoFundMe fundraising page to help the family with costs of the additional days in Michigan and the funeral. Local resident and aunt of Lane, Fhonda Hatmaker is now in charge of the page.
