On Saturday morning, Manchester Police was dispatched to Walmart regarding a woman who was behaving strangely. Upon arriving, the officer escorted the unnamed female outside of the store and began making an inquiry as to her situation. At that point, the situation escalated, and the officer attempted to restrain the woman.
The female collapsed and was taken to Unity Medical Center in Manchester and then transferred to St. Thomas in Nashville. According to family members, the woman died early Sunday morning.
Coffee County District Attorney Craig Northcott told On Target News that a significant amount of methamphetamine was found in the woman’s possession.
Northcott has asked the TBI to investigate the matter.
