The Lady Commodores of Vanderbilt University on Monday announced they would not continue their basketball season for the remainder of the season.
The decision came down due to the Lady Commodores roster being infected with COVID-19 along with injuries from some of the players. According to Athletics Director Candice Lee and Coach Stephanie White the decision was made by the players to discontinue the season.
The Lady Commodores finish their 2020-21 season 4-4 on the season and 0-3 in the SEC. Six games for Vanderbilt had been canceled or postponed due to COVID-19. The Commodores have 15 games left in the season which will not be played.
