Vols drop Gators in quarterfinals of SEC Mens Basketball Tournament

The Tennessee Volunteers men’s basketball squad dropped the Florida Gators 78-66 on Friday in the quarterfinals of the SEC men’s basketball tournament. 

The Volunteers advance to the semifinals of the SEC Men’s Tournament with tip off at noon tomorrow where they face the Alabama Crimson Tide.

In the first quarter of play, the Volunteers controlled the lead over the Gators going into the locker room at the half on top 31-22. Out of halftime, Tennessee continued to extend their lead over Florida and end the contest with a win. 

Santiago Vescovi led the way in scoring for the Volunteers posting 14 points. Keon Johnson scored 13 points on the night. Josiah-Jordan James notched 12 points to secure the win for Tennessee.
