The Tennessee Volunteers men’s basketball squad fell in a heartbreaking matchup to the Alabama Crimson Tide 73-68 on Saturday in the semifinals of the SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Tennessee snagged the lead in the first half over Alabama 40-31 going into the locker room on top at the half. Out of halftime, the Volunteers continued to cruise with the lead, but the Crimson Tide pulled ahead with a tenacious defense to end the contest with a win.
Keon Johnson led the way for Tennessee posting 20 points. Jaden Springer scored 18 points on the night. Santiago Vescovi notched 11 points for the Volunteers.
