On December 3, 2022, Warren County Deputy Cory Lynn Cannon was involved in an off-duty one vehicle crash in Rock Island. He was transported to Riverpark Hospital in McMinnville and then to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
After a thorough investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol a warrant was issued for driving under the influence 1st offense, citation for failure to wear a seatbelt. After being released from the hospital Cannon turned himself in at the Warren County Jail.
Warren County Sheriff Jackie Matheny Jr relieved Cannon of his duties as a deputy.
