30 year old James Garrett appeared in Warren County General Sessions Court Friday for a hearing on a charge of criminal homicide. Garrett’s bond was set at $600,000 and the preliminary hearing is set for March 2.
Garrett is charged with one count of criminal homicide in the shooting death of 30 year old Javier Wiley early Saturday morning on Feb. 6.
After an altercation on Highway 70S between Murfreesboro and Woodbury Garrett, his wife and Wiley stopped the Garrett’s home in McMinnville where Garrett told Wiley to leave. When he refused Garrett shot Wiley. Garrett has maintained he shot Wiley in self-defense.
