Westwood Boys’ Soccer Wins Regular Season Conference Championship

The Westwood Rockets boys’ soccer team closed out their regular season with the Central Tennessee Soccer Conference championship.

The middle school, Rockets defeated Cascade 3-1 on Thursday and earned the #1 seed in the upcoming tournament they will host.

Westwood went undefeated and only two goals in conference play and two in non-conference play.

The Rockets finished their non-conference schedule with a win over Coffee County on Monday and Thurman Francis Middle School on Wednesday before the victory against Cascade.

Westwood will compete in the conference tournament on Wednesday in the semifinals.

Head Coach Kevin Smith said he was happy with how the season has gone and all the Rockets have accomplished. He added that they played a demanding schedule, maybe the toughest ever, that included wins over non-conference foes; Shelbyville’s Harris Middle, Cumberland County, and Algood. Smith said the team’s biggest goal awaits in the conference tournament.
