Westwood Lady Rockets Win State Championship

The Westwood Lady Rockets brought home the GOLD BALL on Saturday night as they captured the Class AAA FC Haile State Tournament in Murfreesboro at Middle Tennessee Christian School. This is the first state championship for Westwood.

The Lady Rockets got past a talented group of ladies from Walter J Baird Middle School out of Lebanon, TN, 37-28.

Jules Ferrell had another outstanding game with 15 points, followed by Reece Finch with 11, and Bella VanZanbergen finished with 8 points. All three girls were named to the All-Tournament team.

Head Coach Shala Ferrell’s Westwood team wraps up the season with an overall record of 24-1. Ferrell said after the game, “This team has developed a bond that went further than the hardwood.” The coach added, “They are a blessing to me. Their trust in me to help them through their weaknesses in games carried us to a victorious season.” Ferrell said, “I could not be prouder for this team and their families.” She finished by stating, “Thank you to Manchester City Schools for giving me this opportunity.
