Westwood Wins both games on Thursday after the Boys come from behind Win

The Westwood Lady Rockets improved to 13-1 on the season as they defeated Thurman Francis Middle School in Smyrna on Thursday night, 42-21.

Jules Ferrell and Reece Finch combined for 40 or Westwood’s 42. Ferrell finished with 22 and Finch added 18.

In boys’ action it was much closer as the Rockets and Thurman Francis came down to a big fourth quarter for Westwood. The Rockets outscored Thurman Francis 12-7 to pull out the win, 46-44.

Kaysen Lowery scored 22 in the exciting game. Matthew White had 12 points, with 6 coming in Westwood’s fourth quarter comeback. Keller Hatfield added 8 as his team improved to 9-5 on the season.

Next up for the basketball Rockets will be a trip to Bedford County for games against Cascade on Tuesday.
