Wildcats Season Ends at Page

The season came to an end for Tullahoma football friday night at the hands of the back to back 5A state runner ups as Page controled the contest from start to finish in route to a 37-7 victory in the second round of the 5A playoffs.

After a three and out from the Wildcats to open the game the Patroits flexed their muscle with a 6:51 15 play 66 yard drive for the first score of the game, a five yard run by quarterback Jonathan Palmer to put Page in front 7-0 with 3:37 left in the first quarter.

Tullahoma muffed the kickoff and the Pats recovered deep in Wildcat territory to set up their second TD of the night as William Wiebush scored on a 1 yard rush with :05 left in the first.

After a Tullahoma turnover and Page three and out the Patriots added to the lead as a bad snap on a punt forced Grant Chadwhick to kick the ball out of the back of the endzone for a safety. Ethan Cunningham scored on the ensuing drive after the free kick ripping off a 55 yard run to put Page in front 23-0 with 8:00 left in the half.

The Cats scored their lone points of the night on the next drive as Khani Johnson took a third down screen 77 yards.

Page respond with an 8 play TD drive finished off by the second score of the night by Palmer from a yard out with 3:32 left in the half. After a Tullahoma turnover on downs Cunningham pushed the Page lead to 37-7 with his second big TD run of the night, this time from 45 yards out.

That would be the final score as with a running clock the second half evaporated quickly.

With the loss the Wildcats end the season with a record of 8-4.

The focus nows shifts to the hardwood as Tullahoma basketball opens the season Tuesday night at Oakland. The first basketball broadcast of the season on 93.9 The Duck is set for November 28th at 5:45 when the Wildcats host Shelbyville. Tullahoma Sports on The Duck are presented all year long by Tennessee Homes.
