Wildcats top Spring Hill, Advance to District Semifinals

The Tullhoma Wildcats survived a third quarter surge from Spring Hill to advance to the semifinals of the District 8-3A tournament with a 63-53 win at home Tuesday night.  

The Wildcats jumpped out to an early advantage as the Raiders struggled with turnovers in the first half. Tullahoma led by 10 first half points from Brody Melton led 32-18 at the half. However Spring Hill came out strong in the third led by a 10-0 run from Kai’Seanne Brasher to pull with in 7 at 41-34 heading into the fourth. The Cats were able to convert at the free throw line as welll as convert a few Spring Hill turnovers into points to secure the win.  

Krys Uselton led Tullahoma with 14 points and was named the Bowman Media Player of the Game. Brody Melton 12 and Ryan Scott 11 also finished in double figures for the Wildcats.  

Kai’Seanne Brashear led all scorers with 31 points for Spring Hill Quintaveous Simmons added in 12.  

The Raiders close the season 4-17 overall and winless in district play.  

Tullahoma improves to 10-5 on the season and will now face the 2nd seeded Lincoln County Falcons in the district semifinals Friday at 7:30 LIVE on 93.9 The Duck’s Coffee County Bank Basketball Showcase.

Will is a Middle Tennessee native having been born and raised in Winchester. His love of radio began as a child listening to local stations on the way to school or while falling asleep at night. After High School, where he was active in student media, he attended the University of Tennessee majoring in Journalism and Electronic Media while covering sports for the campus radio station. He then moved into the business professionally as a board op/producer for Cumulus of Knoxville and the Vol Network. His radio journey then took him to Louisiana where he was the lead producer for ESPN New Orleans. After returning home to Winchester, he spent several years broadcasting local sports for stations in Franklin County before joining the Bowman Family. When he’s not at the station, Will enjoys spending time with his wife Shaina and his two fur babies (Toulouse and Belle), cheering on the Vols, Preds and Saints and in the kitchen or behind the grill trying out new recipes.
