National Fentanyl Awareness Day

Tuesday was National Fentanyl Awareness Day. This dangerous drug has impacted communities across the nation, including ours.

Tuesday morning, Franklin County Mayor Chris Guess and other community leaders gathered in the mayor’s office as Guess signed a proclamation recognizing National Fentanyl Awareness Day.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to the fight against this dangerous drug and other illegal substances. Here are some statistics on the drugs seized in the last two months by our office:

Fentanyl powder: 0.76 ounces

Fentanyl pills: 1,768

Methamphetamine: 5.49 ounces

Cocaine: 0.18 ounces

Marijuana: 21.4 ounces
