Xavier Randolph scored twice for Coffee County on Friday night at Blackman, but it was not as the Blaze defeated the Red Raiders 31-14.
Coffee County (2-8) had its chances to score more. The Red Raiders recovered the opening kickoff after Blackman fumbled. After the drive stalled, Coffee County missed a 34-yard field goal. A fumble at the 3-yard line and an interception in the end zone stopped two other scoring opportunities.
Randolph scored on a 30-yard punt return after Blackman only managed a short kick after a fumbled snap. Freshman quarterback Kaysen Lowery entered the game in the fourth quarter and led the Raiders down the field. Lowery was 4-for-4 for 73 yards, finishing his only offensive series with a 49-yard TD pass to Randolph.
Brendon Sheppard was named the Rooster 101.5, Giles Dunn Diamond Company Player of the Game. Shepperd hardly comes off the field and had a very consistent year, and we felt that he deserved one of the awards.
