Theft Suspect Captured in Moore County

On Saturday, Moore County Sheriff Tyler Hatfield and deputies responded to an anonymous tip at Jiffy Mart concerning a gray Nissan Truck.

The vehicle was posted on social media and believed to be involved in several thefts and burglaries in Moore County.

Once on scene, officers encountered William Leon Clay of Bedford County. Clay was found to be in possession of items he had shoplifted from Jiffy Mart and was detained for questioning.

After further investigation, Clay was identified to be the suspect in question and was arrested and charged with Shoplifting, Theft of Property, and Burglary. Clay was booked into The Moore County Jail.
