The end of seasonal holiday jobs in January can be counted as one of the contributing factors that led to higher county unemployment rates across Tennessee for the month. While statewide unemployment numbers are adjusted to consider the impacts of seasonal labor, county unemployment rates are not adjusted.
Each of Tennessee’s 95 counties experienced an increase in unemployment during January.

Bedford County 3.1 percent in December, 3.4 in January
Coffee County 3.0 in December, 3.3 in January
Franklin County 3.1 in December, 3.6 in January
Grundy County 3.9 percent in December, 4.4 in January
Lincoln County 2.8 in December, 3.5 in January
Moore County 2.2 in December, 2.5 in January
Warren County 3.5 percent in December, 4.1 in January
