Driver Busted for Meth in Decherd

On 01/26/2023, Decherd Police Department Sergeant Ruslan Tucker initiated a traffic stop on a red pick-up truck on AEDC Rd. for a traffic violation.

The driver of the vehicle, Heath Womble, stated to Sgt. Tucker that he did not have his license on him and was later confirmed to have a revoked driver’s license.

Sgt. Tucker asked Womble out of the vehicle and observed a syringe with brown residue in plain view in the driver’s door pocket. A vehicle search was conducted, and a zip-lock baggie containing a crystal-like substance believed to be 18.5 grams of methamphetamine was in a hoodie inside the vehicle.

Womble was arrested and transported to the Franklin County Jail.
