Former Preacher in Manchester and Grundy Co. receives 25 years for Rape of a Child

On Wednesday, 77-year-old David Allen Kidder agreed to a plea bargain for one count of Rape of a Child and received 25 years in state prison to be served at 100%. After release, he would be placed on the sex registry and have community supervision for the rest of his life.

Charges were filed against Kidder in Coffee County in 2021.

According to sources, Kidder was once a preacher in Manchester and in Grundy County. Jason Ponder prosecuted the case.
