On Thursday, the Coffee County Lady Raiders defeated the Columbia Lady Lions 10-5 in the loser’s bracket final of the District 9 Class 4A.
The Lady Raiders got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Paisley Campbell doubled, scoring one run; Jalyn Moran singled, scoring two runs; and Ella Arnold doubled, scoring two runs.
Coffee County scored five more runs in the bottom of the third inning on five hits. Channah Gannon singled, scoring one run, and Willow Carden hit a three-run homer to left. Ella Arnold added a two-run double.
Carden and Gannon had two hits for the Lady Raiders. Tennessee commit Saviya Morgan led Columbia with three hits from the leadoff position.
Next up was the district championship game against Lincoln County.
The Lady Falcons got a walk-off 2-run inside the park home run by Hallie Meeks in the bottom of the fifth to earn the 13-3 win for the championship.
Coffee County scored one run in the top of the third on Willow Carden’s solo home run to left field.
Savannah Cooper, Maggie Montgomery, Channah Gannon, Carden, and Ella Arnold all had one hit each for the Lady Raiders. Carden and Arnold each drove in one run.
Both teams will be in action on Monday in the Region 5-AAAA tournament. Lincoln County will host the District 10 runner-up, and the Lady Raiders will travel to the champion.
