Lady Raiders Hit Four Homers in District Tournament Win Over Columbia

Friday night at Terry Floyd Field, the Coffee County Lady Raiders defeated the Columbia Lady Lions in the District 9-AAAA softball tournament, 7-2. The game was heard on The Rooster 101.5.

Gaby Bolton hit a 2-run homer in the first inning to give the Lady Lions a 2-0 lead. Savannah Cooper hit a solo homer in the bottom half of the first to cut the advantage to one.

In the fourth, the Lady Raiders hammered the ball. Jalyn Moran hit a long home run to centerfield, her 6th of the season. Channah Gannon doubled in a run, and Maggie Montgomery hit her first home run in her high school career to give Coffee County a 6-2 lead.

In the fifth, the Lady Raiders got their fourth homer in the game as Paisley Campbell hit a solo home run, her 4th of the 2024 season.

The game was called in the bottom of the 6th due to heavy rain.

Lily Norman threw all six innings to pick up the win. She allowed 5 hits, 2 runs, 2 walks, and struck out 8 in the win.

Montgomery was named the Dr Jay Trussler/Rooster 101.5 Player of the Game. The freshman had 3 hits, 2 RBI, and scored a run for the (18-13) Lady Raiders.

Lincoln County defeated Warren County 6-0 on Friday, so they will host Coffee County on Monday at 6 PM in the winner’s bracket game.

Depending on Coffee County’s baseball tournament play over the weekend, we will post the team we will cover on Monday through the On Target News and Rooster 101.5 Facebook pages.
