On September 29, 2023, around 1:30 PM at the Ambassador Inn in Manchester, Tennessee, Gary Edward Teague, age 44, from Hillsboro, Tennessee, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and passed away from the wounds shortly thereafter.
The Manchester Police Department responded immediately and had the area surrounded within minutes.
Based on descriptions from witnesses at the hotel, a search began for the suspect in and around the surrounding area and he was apprehended within the hour.
As first reported by On Target News, the suspect, Tauris Donte Maymi, age 30, from Manchester, Tennessee was charged with first degree murder and is being held without bond in the Coffee County Jail.
Investigators with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department, Tullahoma Police Department, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and the Coffee County District Attorney’s Office aided MPD with the investigation. The defendant is set for initial appearance in the Coffee County General Sessions Court at 8:30 AM on October 3, 2023.
