Two Coffee County Red Raiders Ready to Play College Football

On Wednesday, two Coffee County senior football players signed up to compete on the gridiron at the next level.

Xavier Randolph, who wore #9 for Coffee County, accepted an offer to be a preferred walk-on at Tennessee Tech to play for the Eagles in Cookeville.

Randolph played linebacker on defense for the Red Raiders and tight end on offense. The 6’3” 220lbs. Randolph played for Coffee County for one year after transferring from Seigel. Last spring, he competed in the TSSAA Track & Field state championships in Murfreesboro, where he finished fifth in the discus and sixth in the shot put.

Senior offensive tackle Javon Simmons (#64) signed to play at Kansas’s highly touted Independence Community College. The Pirates were featured on the Netflix Last Chance U documentary series in seasons 3 and 4.

The 6’3″ 240lb Simmons was a three-year starter for Coffee County.
