A strong storm powered through the area on Wednesday night. Property damage and downed trees were reported throughout southern middle Tennessee.
Duck River Electric Cooperative said that one point during the storm, 9,500 customers were without power.
The Manchester Recreation Center was damaged when fierce winds struck the building. The National Weather Service reported the wind reached as high as 60 miles per hour in Coffee County.
The roof suffered damage at the center as the powerful wind threw debris all around the complex. Water damage also occurred to the upstairs wellness room. Director A.J. Fox said the roof over the concession area endured heavy damage.
The Manchester Recreation Center will remain closed until Monday.
