A McMinnville man was arrested Saturday for an incident involving road rage.
According to Lieutenant Paul Springer of the McMinnville Police Department, 18-year-old Benjamin Anaya was traveling at a high rate of speed on Faulkner Springs Road when a couple, who were not identified, pulled out of Flood Road onto Faulkner Springs. Anaya was upset and passed them and gestured. They continued onto Faulkner Springs, and Anaya, who pulled into the Highland Crossfiit parking lot, pulled out behind them. Both turned onto Highway 70S Bypass when he pulled up beside them, brandishing a pistol. They sped up, and he pulled beside them again, once again displaying a pistol. Both turned left onto New Smithville Highway. The couple got the tag number and called 911.
Officer Breanna Cook later observed Anaya on New Smithville Highway traveling north when he was stopped in front of Subway. A 22-caliber revolver was found, matching the description described by the couple.
Anaya was charged with aggravated assault and a weapons charge.
