The Tullahoma Wildcats dominated their feline brethren from Lawrence County Friday night 41-6 to push their win streak to three games.
Tullahoma jumped out to the early lead with a 9 play 63 yard drive on the opening possession capped off by a 1 yard Marvancy Johnson touchdown run.
After a Lawrence County punt Tullahoma expanded the lead to two touchdowns as Mason Bratcher hit Khai Johnson from 6 yards out.
A Will Hyden third down interception set up a 27 yard Grant Chadwhick field coach to put the Tullahoma in front 17-0 at the end of the first quarter.
Lawrence County pulled with in 11 on a five yard TD pass from Jayden Trammell to Drakye Osborn to cap an 8 play 75 yard nearly 6 minute drive. The PAT was no good.
Tullahoma gave the ball right back with a Marvancy Johnson fumble on the first play of the ensuing drive. But a high snapped ended Lawrence County’s threat deep in the red zone. With the fumble returned by Eli Morgan to the Lawrence County 40 Bratcher hit Khani Johnson for a 33 yard pass down the the 7. But bad snaps on 2nd down and a fourth down field goal attempt ended Tullahoma’s chance to build the lead keeping the score at 17-6 at the half.
Out of the locker room Lawrence County put together another long drive, chewing up over 6 minutes, but they’d turn it over on downs. Tullahoma responded by going 53 yards in 6 plays and taking 2:47 off the clock finishing the drive with Marvancy Johnson’s second touchdown of the night from a yard out to push the lead to 24-6 with 3:05 left in the third.
Lawrence County put together another 10 play nearly 5 minute drive but agin the drive ended with a turnover as Kale Scott was sacked and Tullahoma recovered the fumble. The Cats stuck just 4 plays later and Marvancy Johnson scored for the third time on the night, this time from 10 yards out to push the leadto 31-6 with 8:43 left in the game.
Tullahoma iced the game following a pair of Lawrence County turnovers on downs. Adding a 48 yard Chawdwick field goal and a Beau Banks 13 yard touchdown run to cap a dominate 41-6 win.
With the victory Tullahoma improved to 5-2 overal and 3-1 in Region 5-5A. Lawrence County fell to 3-4 on the season and 2-2 in the region.
Lawrence County has an open date next friday before hosting Shelbyville on October 13th.
