Many people involved in high school basketball in Tennessee have said that Coffee County and Blackman are two of the best teams in Class 4-A. They played in Murfreesboro on Monday night at the home of the Blaze.
In a very tight 4th quarter, the Lady Raiders tied the game at 47 with 4:08 to go on a 3-pointer by Natalie Barnes. With only 1:47 remaining, Senior Jalie Ruehling tied the game again at 49 with two free-throws. Blackman managed to keep Coffee County from scoring from that point and won the hard-fought non-district game, 54-49. These two teams will face each other again on December 9 in Manchester and you’ll hear it on the Rooster 101.5.
Chole Gannon led the (7-1) Lady Raiders with 13 points.

The Raiders continued to fight and were able to tie the game at 37. With 5 seconds to play the Blaze inbounded the ball side front court, but the Coffee County defense got the stop to send the game into overtime. Blackman managed to put the game away in the OT, 49-40.
Senior Dayne Crosslin led the Raiders with 18 points.
