The Coffee County Red Raiders picked up a very important region win on Friday night at Carden-Jarrell Field in Manchester. The Raiders knocked off the Cookeville Cavilers 27-7.
Konor Heaton 242 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns pushing his total rushing yards for the season to 1,169. Travis Martin had TD catch from Connor Shemwell for the other score. Jake Barlow had 4 sacks (unofficial) on the night. Barlow leads the state with 11 on the year. Heaton and Barlow were named Co-Sir Pizza Players of the Game.
This was the third win in a row for Head Coach Doug Greene’s Coffee County Red Raiders, now 4-4 on the season and 2-2 in Region 3 6-A play. The victory guarantees the Raiders 3rd place in the in the region, the first playoff berth since 2017.
This Friday night Coffee County are at home again as the impressive Rockvale Rockets at 7-1 on the season come to Carden-Jarrell Field for Senior Night.
