On Saturday night (Oct. 21)), the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 46 General Bragg Drive in Lakewood Park for a shooting.
Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, Kyle Adam Albert Gibson, in the driver seat of a red Hyundai SUV. Gibson had been shot.
While investigating the scene, Coffee County sheriff’s deputies identified the alleged shooter as Larry Gene Hurley of the same address.
After an investigation by Coffee County investigators, it was determined that Gibson was allegedly shot by Hurley after a brief argument over Gibson playing with Hurley’s girlfriend’s dog.
At this time, Hurley has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and is being held with no bond at the Coffee County jail. An initial appearance for the shooter is set for General Sessions Court on Tuesday.
Gibson was taken to the hospital and, at last report, was listed in stable condition.
