Fatal Crash on Wednesday in front of Coffee County Middle School

On Wednesday (Jan. 24) morning at 8:47, a 2002 GMC Sierra driven by 76-year-old Gary Bryant, a former doctor in Manchester, was traveling west on the Woodbury Hwy (Hwy 53).

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, for unknown reasons, Bryant’s vehicle struck a 2023 Toyota in the rear, driven by 61-year-old Richard Campbell of Manchester, near the Coffee County Middle School and Green’s Bestway. The collision caused the GMC to veer into the eastbound lanes and collided with a Ford F-150 driven by 36-year-old Randi Fults.

The report says that Bryant died as a result of the crash. Campbell, his juvenile passenger, and Fults were reported as not injured in the crash.

THP, Coffee County Sheriff’s Department, and Coffee County EMS responded to the scene.
