In softball action on Thursday, the Coffee County Lady Raiders jumped out to a commanding 13-0 lead over Warren County after three innings in District 9-AAAA softball at Terry Floyd Field.
Before the Lady Raiders could put away the Lady Pioneers in a run-rule game, Warren County scored five runs, thanks partly to a grand slam by Addison Smith. Freshman SS Maggie Montgomery had a great night at the plate, going 3-for-4, including a triple. She also had an RBI and scored twice. Montgomery was named the Dr Jay Trussler/Rooster 101.5 Player of the Game.
Paisley Campbell, Willow Carden, and Madison Pruitt each had two hits in the game, and Campbell, Madison Pruitt, and Chesnie Cox each had 2 RBI.
Lily Norman picked up the win as she worked six innings and struck out 12 Lady Pioneers.
