Large Fire Contained in Franklin County

Multiple fire departments responded to a 16-acre fire in the Sherwood area of Franklin County Wednesday.

The Crow Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Sewanee Fire Department, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, and Tennessee Division of Forestry were able to contain the 16 acres and 22 hay bales around 9:30 Wednesday night. No structures were affected, and there were no injuries.

Franklin County, Tennessee, is under a fire advisory. No permits will be issued until we receive a significant amount of rain. In Franklin County alone, over 100 acres have burned in 3 separate incidents in the last seven days.
