Phone Scam at Work in Franklin County

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has received several calls about scammers using the department’s phone number to scam citizens.

The scammer(s) are telling the intended victim that one of their family members is in jail and they can pay their bond with electronic payment.

Please do not be fooled by these scammers. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will not call you and ask for an electronic payment. If you receive this call, hang up and do not respond.
