Deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office were nearby and quickly joined in the pursuit. The Decherd officer and deputies attempted to box in the car again, and the driver almost struck the Decherd patrol unit.
The pursuit continued near the Interstate 24 overpass in Pelham, where Franklin County Deputies attempted a PIT maneuver and were able to get the vehicle stopped. The driver of the Toyota could take off again, striking the Decherd officer’s car. Another PIT maneuver was attempted and was successful when the vehicle tried to merge onto I-24.
