Coffee County’s Lady Raiders got hot early and cruised past Shelbyville 63-29 at Rick Insell Gym on Friday.
The snow outside did not cool down Freshman Olivia Vinson as she scorched the nets for 24 points and was named the Sir Pizza Player of the Game. Vinson had five 3’s on the night. Jr. Chloe Gannon added 14.
The state’s 5th ranked girls’ team, the Coffee County Lady Raiders improved to 20-3 overall with the win and 6-0 in District 6-4A.

In a heated boys’ game that saw nearly 50 fouls the Red Raiders were able pull away in the 2nd half after being up by only 5 at halftime. Coffee County knocked off Shelbyville 50-46 in an important district game and remain in first place the district standings.
Connor Shemwell pumped in 21 points for Coach Andrew Taylor’s Red Raiders. Shemwell earned the Sir Pizza Player of the Game. Dayne Crosslin got hot in the 2nd half scoring 11 of 13 points.
Coffee County improved its overall mark to 15-7 and 5-1 in District 6-4A.
