Season concludes for Coffee County Softball

In the TSSAA State Softball Tournament the Coffee County Lady Raiders took on the Stewarts Creek Lady Red Hawks on Wednesday afternoon.

Both teams battled to keep their season alive, but the end the Lady Red Hawks pulled out the 3-0 win and end another successful season for Lady Raider softball.

The girls from Rutherford County scored 2 runs in 6th inning and one more in the 7th to secure the win.

Grace Fujino earned the win for Stewarts Creek, as the righty lasted seven innings, allowing six hits, no runs while striking out two.

According to the TSSAA, shortstop Kiya Ferrell and DH Jada Bowen had 2 hits each for Coffee County. Pitcher Kaitlyn Davis, centerfielder Olivia Evans and Jalyn Moran finished with 1 hit each.

The Lady Raiders concluded the season with their second straight trip to the state tournament with an overall record of 24-16.

The game wrapped up the high school careers for Ferrell, Bowen, Evans, Haidyn Campbell and Emily Schuster.
