We have an update on a story we brought you yesterday. After a request from Tullahoma city leaders, the Tennessee State House and Senate approved a change to the Tullahoma city charter to move the city election from August to November.
City leaders are waiting for Gov. Bill Lee to sign off on the change. Then, the board of mayor and aldermen will vote to approve or disapprove. So, officially, the election is still on for August.
If the change is officially changed, then the Tullahoma city election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, the same date as the presidential election.
According to Andy Farrar, the Administrator of Elections in Coffee County, if the plan is approved, all previously qualified candidates will have to re-qualify along with anyone else who wants to run.
