Skipper Throws One-Hitter and Campbell Homers in Lady Raiders Win Over Shelbyville

Wednesday night in Shelbyville, Haleigh Skipper got the start in the circle for Coffee County. The sophomore pitcher threw a fantastic one-hitter against the Eagleletts in a 14-1 win for the Lady Raiders.

Paisley Campbell came up big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double, triple, and home run. She knocked in four runs and scored twice. Savannah Cooper added two hits, two RBIs, and two runs. Madison Pruitt scored one run with two doubles and a single, plus an RBI. Chesnie Cox had two RBIs, and Kara Wheeler had a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored.

Aly Rippy had the only hit for Shelbyville.

Coffee County improved to 16-10 overall and 8-2 in District 9-AAAA play. Shelbyville falls to 4-9/1-7.

The Lady Raiders will host the Coffee County Classic on Friday and Saturday. They play Baylor at 6:20 and Giles County at 8:10 at Terry Floyd Field on Friday night. On Saturday morning, they play Boyd Buchannan at Dave King Park at 11:50. The JV team will play Friday at 5:00 against Blackman at Dave King Park and Saturday morning at 9:15 versus Riverdale.
