Tullahoma Lady Wildcats Loses Lead Early in Defeat Tullahoma watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 13-1 loss to Columbia Central on Wednesday. Columbia Central scored on a double by Kiraonte Buchanan, an error, and a home run by Addison Maurer in the first inning.
Tullahoma struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Columbia Central, giving up 13 runs.
In the first inning, Columbia Central got their offense started when Buchanan doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.
Summer Hooten was the winning pitcher for Columbia Central. Hooten surrendered one run on three hits over four innings, striking out three. Buchanan threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Zaylan Spinner took the loss for Tullahoma. The righthander surrendered ten runs on eight hits over four innings, striking out one.
Kailyn Farrell, Carlie Baker, and Mallorie Stone each collected one hit to lead Tullahoma.
Columbia Central collected ten hits. Buchanan, Tashiya Lyles, La’Nija Seats, and Saviya Morgan all managed multiple hits for Columbia Central. Columbia Central tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Morgan led the way with four.
