Pair of Wins for Coffee County Basketball

In high school basketball on Monday night Coffee County hosted Lincoln County in a pair of games.

The Lady Raiders got off to a cold start going the first 6 minutes of play before they scored. At the end of the first Coffee County trailed 10-3. After Head Coach Joe Pat Cope had an intense meeting with his team at the end of the quarter his team started to dominate.

The Lady Raiders caught fire and led at halftime 29-14. In the third Coffee County pulled away for a 50-19 lead. The Lady Raiders held the Lady Falcons scoreless in the fourth their ninth win of the year, 60-19.

Chloe Gannon had a big night with 19 points. When she scored her 16th that put her at 1,000 for her high school career. Olivia Vinson added 11, Jalie Ruehling 9 and Natalie Barnes added 8 to help Coffee County improve to 9-1 on the season.

Alyssa Petty led Lincoln County ladies with 5 points.

It was low scoring game, but the Red Raiders managed to pick up a 39-35 win over Lincoln County to improve to 6-4 on the season.

At the end of the first the Falcons held a one-point (10-9) advantage. It was still one-point lead at the end of the first half with Lincoln County leading 19-18. In the third Coffee County was able to grab the lead, 29-24 and held on for the win.

Cooper Reed led the Raiders with 14 with Jackson Shemwell chipping in with 9. Maddox Franklin led the Falcons with 14.

On Tuesday the Lady Raiders will host Riverdale at 6 p.m. followed by the Red Raiders taking on Lighthouse Christian. Hear both games on The Rooster 101.5. www.rooster1015.com or the Rooster 101.5 app.
