In a letter from Carson Chiropractic of Manchester that they posted on their Facebook page, it states that on or about November 13, 2023, they identified a series of patient payments missing, falsification of patient financial records, insurance fraud, doctoring up records to reflect incorrect balances or credits.
In response, Carson Chiropractic immediately dismissed the employee identified on video surveillance and began an internal investigation to identify the source and scope of the attack. Carson Chiropractic states their priority was to contain the incident, report it to the police, and protect their patients. Through an intensive investigation it was determined that a singular employee had allegedly been taking copays, manipulating patient financial records, and falsifying records in order to cover up the theft since November 16, 2022.
Also, Carson Chiropractic has been unable to determine whether any personal information was actually accessed or removed from their system. The information that may have been affected by this incident includes but is not limited to individuals full names, dates of birth, home addresses, phone numbers, copy of driver’s license, full or partial Social Security numbers, dates of service, procedure codes of service, copay/co-insurance amounts, amount ledger balance or credits, insurance benefits and enrollment information, including group name, identification number, claim numbers, and information related to those dates of service, procedure notes, medical record numbers. However, they do not store credit card or bank account information within their system.

No name of the former employee was given by the company. Manchester Police is currently investigating.
