COVID-19 Update for Sunday August 23

Tennessee Department of Health has confirmed 1,854 additional of COVID-19 across the state on Sunday, bringing the state to 143,937 total cases.

Four additional deaths brings Tennessee’s total up to 1,567.

Last week was deadliest week for Tennessee since the beginning of the pandemic. From August 16-22, the state reported 218 COVID-19 related deaths.

Out of the confirmed positive cases, 104,054 have recovered. Tennessee currently has 38,316 active cases.

*Bedford County: 14 died; 1,051 confirmed/probable cases; 794 recovered; 243 active cases

*Cannon County: 0 died; 185 confirmed/probable cases; 129 recovered; 56 active cases

*Coffee County: 5 died: 691 confirmed/probable cases; 365 recovered; 321 active cases

*Franklin County: 4 died; 422 confirmed/probable; 284 recovered; 134 active cases.

*Grundy County: 2 died; 142 confirmed/probable; 103 recovered; 37 active cases

*Lincoln County: 1 died; 385 confirmed/probable; 230 recovered; 154 active cases.

*Moore County: 0 died; 84 confirmed/probable; 42 recovered; 42 active cases

*Rutherford County: 64 died; 7,461 confirmed/probable; 5,050 recovered; 2,347 active cases.

*Warren County: 7 died; 735 confirmed/probable; 419 recovered; 309 active cases.
