Grundy Co. Man Charged Indicted for Vehicular Homicide and Driver Intoxication

On July 4, 2019 Chasten Britton, 20, of Skymont, was killed in an ATV crash in Grundy County.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Britton was the passenger in a Polaris Razor driven by 20 year-old Payton Hargis of Tracy City. The side-by-side went off the road and hit a tree. Britton died on the scene. Hargis spend several months in a hospital in Chattanooga and Atlanta.
Hargis, of Tracy City, has been indicted for Vehicular Homicide and Driver Intoxication in the July 2019 death. He turned himself into the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office and has since been released on bond.
